In Brazilian Jiu-jitsu when we learn offensive techniques from Guard we learn them in a a chained together fashion.
Meaning it goes from 1 technique to the next.
An if this, then that approach. Where if 1 technique fails the next technique activates.
For whatever reason I didn't treat my escapes like this.
When I would try to escape a bad position I would typically do it by using a singular technique. If it failed I would go back to the start and then attempt another separate technique.
This led to a lot of frustration early on.
One of the biggest breakthroughs for me with my Side Control escapes was to chain together multiple techniques.
With this Shoulder Roll Series I will show you a set of techniques that do just that.
And even if you don't like the techniques themselves you can take the idea away to any set of escapes you like.
The key is to chain them together just like you would with any other position.
